Who we are. Saturday Night Telly is a free test website made by SYNF, a small web company in Glasgow. SYNF is a trading name of BHIK STUDIOS LTD, registered in Scotland, company number SC670511, 1 Cambuslang Court, Cambuslang, Glasgow, G32 8FH.
What it is. It plays old British telly from the 1980s and 1990s on a timetable, like a real channel. It is a test. It may change, stop working or close at any time.
Where the videos come from. Every programme plays from YouTube, in YouTube's own player. We do not store or copy any video. The videos belong to the people who made them or uploaded them. When you watch, YouTube's Terms of Service apply too: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
Adverts. YouTube may show its own adverts before or during a programme. That is YouTube's choice, not ours. We do not hide or skip them.
Who it is for. This site is for grown-ups who want to look back at the telly they grew up with. Some programmes are for children, but the site is not made for children to use on their own.
What we ask of you. Please use the site in a normal way. Do not try to break it, copy it in bulk, or use it to break the law.
No promises. We try to keep the timetable right, but programmes can be missing, late or swapped. We are not responsible for what is in a video, or for YouTube's service.
Changes. We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.
Law. These terms follow the law of Scotland.
Short version. We do not ask for your name or email. We count visits in a simple way so we know if people like the site. YouTube knows what you watch, as it does on its own site.
What we collect, and why.
_ga and _ga_ plus a code. It does not tell us who you are. We use it only to see if the test is working. What we do not do. We do not sell your data. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not ask you to sign up.
Saying no. You can turn off analytics with the "Turn off analytics" link at the bottom of the page. You can also block cookies in your browser, or use Google's opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. If you block YouTube's cookies, some videos may not play.
How long we keep it. Google Analytics keeps event data for no longer than 14 months, then deletes it. Server logs are kept only as long as our hosting keeps them for security, and are not used to identify visitors.
Your rights. Under UK law you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or complain. Email berty@synf.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: https://ico.org.uk
The legal reason we use. Legitimate interests: running and improving a free test site.
If you own a programme on this site and you do not want it here, tell us and we will take it off.
We put official uploads first. Where a broadcaster or the show's makers have put a programme on YouTube, we use theirs. Where we use a fan upload, we mark it in our own records, and we swap it for an official copy when one appears.
This site makes no money while it is a test. No adverts or paid links are sold by us on this page.
